[V8] Stereo/Sub with bose Question

The main question I had is has anyone installed a sub in the back of their car with the bose system I did it with a landrover and used a rca converter that you just tapped into rear speaker wires. I know that the bose system is unique in that it has speaker amps at every speaker my question is can I safely tap in to wires before the amp.  Any one try this setup?   Or do I have to change every thing in order to get some bass?   Also just wondering does anyone out there have two rear speakers with amps that work i need those also?
