The most effective one I've come across was snow. I had an intermittent
drain that was driving me nuts, it would never pull current while I was
watching, sneaky little gremlin. I got frustrated chasing it and just
learned to live with it. On a snowy NE day, I go out to the V8Q and
notice that there is a definite hole in the snow below the 3rd brake
light...the heat from the trunk light was keeping it toasty in the area.
The trunk light switch body was slightly worn and would ground to the
body randomly, body flex from getting in the car seemed to be enough to
shut the light down.
