[V8] Glovebox Removal? (Ignition switch & heater core R&R)

Thanks Cobram ...

I've always managed to to the heater box with the hood in place ... but I
did see that the manual has it removed ... since the car's sitting in the
driveway I may save the hood R&R until the last desperate attempt to get it
done! :-) There's one difference I know ... and that is the V8 has the
flap motor attached to the heater box, so you don't have to deal with the
Bowden cable ...

Since I've got a good part of the dash removed, and I want to convert over
to the Gamma's 10 disc CD changer anyway I might just go crazy and pull the
console ... that way I will be able to access all of the air ducts for the
heater ...

Oh, yes ... one last thing ... I noticed the recirc door return spring has
broken ... right now I don't have a clear idea of where the thing is
supposed to attach (the end on the door is intact). I'll check the other
car in the morning ... but I would not be surprised to find two broken
springs! At least I don't have the vacuum motor ripping itself from its
moorings due to the seal adhesive gluing the door shut ... the classic 5000
problem. Funny, now that I'm thinking about the 5000 I'm remembering that
there's an attaching bar for the spring up near the vacuum motor ... I'll
have to see if the V8 has something similar ...
