After driving to work and school and getting less that 11mpg, somthing
had to be done! I think the $320 will be a nice investment!

I agree that something can/should be done about 11MPG, but I would think
there would we a lot to do before buying a new fueling system?
Craig sez: I agree with Mike. Having tweaked a fuel map or two, I'll tell
ya you'll have 200 hours in the project by the time you are done. BTDT. Yes,
you will have it running after the base map. The other 198 hours will be in
getting it right. :-) Either the problem lies behind the steering wheel or
there's something wrong with the car. My trip computer indicates 19 mpg average
(slow and go, no freeway or stop and go). On the freeway it indicates
21-28. As far as fuel economy goes, your time might be better spent fixing what's
broken. As far as dragging it down to 12.5:1 for max power, MegaSquirt or a
chip, or sensor cheating is required of course. Has anyone heard of an A/B
switch like the diesel guys have? I have done several EFI conversions for
American V8s. The one I like the best as far as tweakability is concerned, is
the Edelbrock/Weber unit, which comes with a program-modifying scan tool and
ABCD switchability. This unit is flexible enough to work on the Audi, (with
mods, of course).
