[V8] no start

Yes, one loud click.

I wanted to short the posts to confirm the starter would spin, but I
chickened out. Someone else mentioned doing it. I wasn't exactly
sure of how though. Key in run position and short between the 2 posts
on the back of the solenoid?

I intended to pull the starter last night, but was dog tired and just
could not seem to find the access from behind for the top bolt. I saw
a round hole but that was oriented about 90 degrees or perpendicular
to what I thought it should be. I couldn't get any access up and/over
in there. No one has made any big noises about it being a total PITA
so I figure I was just not up to the task last night and quit. Going
to attack it again on Saturday with a friend.

There's a shop here in town that I've had a couple of alternators
rebuilt at so I'm just going to take the starter to them.
