[V8] Free K&N Air Filter, now MAF

I've always heard about K&N oil ruining MAFs.  I advise all my customers 
to be easy on the oil (in my own words, "This isn't 1980's 
hairspray...").  But I've never heard of anyone actually having trouble 
with it.  It's always been an old mechanic's tale.  K&N's website 
refutes any idea and goes on to describe tests they've done (dipping it 
in oil, e.g.) and how it didn't hurt the sensor at all.  But one has to 
remember the source and its bias.

So has anyone actually ever had a K&N ruin their MAF?  If so, how did 
you know it was the oil?
