Well, it's official: I am the proud owner of _2_ black V8s. LOML is less
than ecstatic, but I told her I'll hold off painting mine for quite a while.

The new-to-me 93 is definitely a parts car. Body is straight, couple of
small dings, and a huge paint chip on one door. But the list of mechanical
issues is longer even than I thought. Still, lots of good parts, including
the seats. At 218k miles, the seats are all butter-soft. They do need
refinishing, so I'll be seeing a leather guy about that. They'll be a nice
addition to the 5-speed.

It will be a while before I start parting it out. And the first order of
business is figuring out what to do with the 4.2. Hopefully it will end up
in the 5-speed, but I need to come up with a game plan-what to rebuild, what
to leave alone. There is a company in CA called Deves (used to be Swedish)
that lists rings for the 4.2, and there is a machinist in St Louis who does
Porsche cylinder bore/etch. Has anyone made a 3.6 block into a 4.2, or does
the cylinder spacing prevent that?

Many questions to come regarding 93 parts that can go into a 91. This is
going to be more than a project. My "perfect car" is a 93 5-speed, so we'll
see how close it can get.

(Lack of) sanity no longer questionable
