Scott,

Several quattros ago, I bought a 1990 CQ from a guy who is an electrical
engineer. He ran a lead (phone cord I think) from the sunroof motor, long
enough to reach to the passenger side sun visor. This worked very well,
although the radar detector chirped when I pressed the sunroof switch. The
phone cord connection is specific to Valentine 1 radar detector. This
prompted me to buy a V-1 which turned out to be an excellent investment!

HTH,
Andy
