[V8] Block Heating

I have not done this on any of my Audi's but you could look into a block heater that installs in one of the freeze plugs. There are also "battery blankets", heated blanket around the battery. But in our case its difficult because of its location.

Good maintenance is the best thing to do. If you occasionally get below zero have your battery checked, have the correct weight oil in it. A synthetic 5W-30. Good clean anti-freeze, 50-50 mix. Plugs and wires, basic tune-up items. check them all. It only takes one weak link in the chain to leave you stranded.
