There is a write-up on the A8 forum for people wanting to integrate a
home link system in the car. It's a really slick thought (as it's
something I was looking to do). Home link was offered in two different
forms, one as a rearview mirror replacment (replaced stock mirror with a
GenTech/ EBay unit) or the other would be to hack up a perfectly door
sun visor + the home link from a donor car. 

On the A8 forum, a guy took an "extra" push button and wired the button
to act as the button on the remote, just tucked the whole thing back
into the dash and done. It looks stock, no extra wires or things about..
very slick IMO. I'm looking to modify the button cover (some black
testers paint on the inside to block the red from coming thru) to make
the night illumination to be different than the other switches. 

And then you have a built in custom solution and nothing extra.
