[V8] What would it take?

This brings me back to a dicussion I had with a gent in my dealership days. He picked up a 1986 Audi 5000 for 250 bucks. Came to the dealer needing all four window regs, all four door handles, clutch plates for the automatic trans, a power steering rack, a power steering pump, and a speedometer (i think everything that could go wrong was wrong with this car). He kept blabbing about what a great ride it was and how nice it was, until the quote came to almost 4,000 bucks. He flipped out and started yelling and screaming..
You get what you pay for, the sub 1,000 V8 will probably require 5 times that amount to fix than a 2500-3000 V8. People seem to think that the price is the most important factor in buying a car, where in reality it's the car itself that is the most important factor.
I buy/sell A4's and I ask pretty close to blue book retail and get it eventually. For every A4 I sell, 5 people have passed up the car I have to buy a lesser priced vehicle with problems. It's always gratifying to know someone eventually pays more for a vehicle after they fix it all up than one of my cars cost all fixed up to begin with.
