[V8] Imminent Fuel Pump Failure?

the two pumps are totally different. ingo is right that the sizes are
different and one needs a cage update. however, one of the two pumps has
been discontinued. if u have the one that is NLA, u have to buy all the
parts to convert over to the other. NOW, keith tackett posted a way some
time back to convert our cars to an edelbrock fuel pump i believe (may have
been a holly). the pump cost about 90$ and keith swears it works just as
well. i believe there are a few listers who have done it with great
success. i differ with ingo on the grime comment. grime does not just
appear over nite. he is right that it messes with the fuel pumps ability to
suck, but when a pump starts making a lot of noise, it is done for. the
grime has been there for quite some time. when u clean out the tank to get
rid of the grime, i would suggest an oil extraction pump for the auto store.
works really well. just make sure all the gunk has settled before u pump it
out.
