[V8] V8 leaking oil... again... and again

I too belong to the smoking V8 club.
My observations are I only get a substantial amount of leaking after running
on the highway with constant 5+ bar pressure. Just doodling around never
seems to be an issue of getting ANY drips, but after I get off the highway and
sustained running I get enough oil leaking to leave a 6 inch ring. Very weird.
Replacing the valve covers seals made zero difference. 1 Quart every 1000
miles, so not truly too bad.
Maybe the head needs a re-torque to offset the head rise when cylinder
pressures are high for sustained periods??? I will re-tighten them when I do the
T-Belt I guess.
Funny, 16V VW's (very similar heads) don't have this issue at all. Maybe the
cant of the heads versus the closer to upright position of the VW helps stem
the loss.
Cheers,
Jack
