[V8] Canadian V8's

I hate to be a wet blanket but this isn't going to be a walk in the park.
If these two V8's in Canada are brought into the US, there are at least
three separate agencies that need to be satisfied.
First of all, and easiest is the EPA. Basically, all V8's are exempt or
meet EPA requirements. That seems easy.
Second, the DOT. This is where it gets REAL sticky. If the cars are road
worthy, then it seems to me from what I read on the website, that a bond
will have to be posted guaranteeing that the cars will be brought up to US
DOT requirements. IF this is the case then it is an absolute deal breaker.
Then there is the NHTSA and the Customs people. I dunno how much of a
piece of flesh they will need, but there will be something.
Simply describing the cars as "parts cars" won't cut it as far as I can tell
from reading websites. I think the cars will probably need to be in pieces
in order to get across the border. I am not sure if the engines can even be
brought across the border, although they should fall under the age limit for
EPA purposes.
I don't think it is hopeless but I do think there is a substantial amount of
hassle to go through. This was just a quick read off the websites.
