I can't find any on mine on the door pillars. There is, of course, a Transport Canada decal. Under the hood and affixed to the top of the front x-frame there's a decal stating, among other things, that the car conforms to US EPA regulations. > > > > The cars have operational day time running lights, of course.> > > > > > > > > > ________________________________> > From: D Morralee <superdaveski at hotmail.com>> > To: rmwoodbury at roadrunner.com; audi fan <v8 at audifans.com>> > Sent: Wednesday, February 11, 2009 7:14:30 AM> > Subject: Re: [V8] Canadian V8's> > > > > > Any Audi that is imported into North America is good on both sides of the boarder . The Canadian cars have a DOT sticker on the door pillar already. There are some small things that have to be changed with vehicles coming up from the states . Things like Day lite running lights have to be working . I don't know all the laws on this but I know it isn't that hard anymore. ( both ways ) Back in the late 80's Free trade agreement between Canada and the USA established guild lines. I believe they started by charging a duty for cars built and assbly. Canada/US/Mexico that were 15 years or younger, the next year it was 14ys and younger and so on. > > > > cheers superdave ( Ottawa ) > > > > IMPORT DUTY. An Import Duty may also be payable at the same time. Duty is only applicable to non-NAFTA vehicles and is calculated at 6.1%. NAFTA cars are vehicles that have been manufactured or have been assembled in Canada/US/Mexico with a minimum of 55% content. A "NAFTA" vehicle is exempt of ANY tariffs, duties or taxes when sold in Canada/US/Mexico. A "NAFTA" vehicle can be easily determined by looking at the VIN number. If the first character of the VIN is a NUMBER then it is DUTY FREE. If the first character is a letter, the vehicle is subject to a 6.1% Import Duty. > > > > everything you wanted to know about NAFTA ( AUTO's ) and were afraid to ask .> > > > http://oldfraser.lexi.net/publications/books/assess_nafta/auto_goods.html> > > > > > > > > From: rmwoodbury at roadrunner.com> To: mark.afheldt at zerox.com> Date: Wed, 11 Feb 2009 06:45:36 -0500> CC: v8 at audifans.com> Subject: [V8] Canadian V8's> > Aha!
