They adjust the fuel consumption computer to more accurately reflect fuel consumption and the range is +/- 15 percent iirc.

Does anyone know what the 4 dip switches on the oustide of the IC do? I have
3 small switches with an on/off setting, and a red on that has an on/off
setting.  I've left them in the original (off) position, but it could easily
be they have been moved from where they used to be.
