... it can't hurt I suppose ... although it is going to be difficult to know
conclusively if it made a difference. I hear the automatics are
considerably more difficult to get at ... but if you think it will help you
may want to apply it sooner than later ...
My "solution" has been to use the foil/fiberglass sandwich Audi makes
(made?) for the starter solenoids of the 5000 turbos ... bought a few of
them many years ago (for an urq starter solenoid). I would think a the
foil/insulator would make a difference ... but then the same comment I made
for the insulating paint applies to my solution as well ... it's hard to
prove it makes a difference ...

Company in Brooklyn NY makes some serious high-temp ceramic based paints,
you can buy it in spray
cans. Wonder if next time the heat shield over the two engine sensors
happens to be out that might
be a good time for a coat of this paint on the "hot" side of the shield?
Cotronics Duralco 6105SP spray paint, good to 1200 degrees F. I'm doing the
engine side of the
firewall in my airplane with it. Not even very expensive.

90V8Q, hot, but not *that* hot.
