Nick, ETKA list the same part number (4a0959855a) for the the 100/200, the c4100/a6, 80/90, 87-88 5000, and the v8 quattro. After that, the design of the switches changed all together. So apparently, the brighter ones are just a newer design. You ask what I mean by stupid bright? Try this..... You could probably read a book if you held it close enough to my master switches on the driver side. They are that bright, and blood red like the more modern Audi's. I ended up replacing all of them, just so they would all match.Al

What sort of "Stupid Bright" switches are we talking? The switches were all on my car and didn't work, so I took them apart to clean the contacts with sand paper and hit them with de-oxit. No doubt you could get good working ones if I knew what car they came from. They don't belong to the V8 but I pulled them out of there. Sorta weird.

I think the old one was hand assembled with the resistor/light bulb but the new one is both a resistor on the board and a new type of light, a real LED, and it is many many times brighter than all my other switches. At least 4 times brighter, seriously. It would be nice to get a full set of them for the car, they would be far more visible. It looks like maybe an early A6 or S4/S6 type of thing.
