[V8] Stereo wiring (power) question

Jack,

I would be looking for a ground fault instead of an alternate power source.
 I have a few limited experiences with Nakamichi head units and they have
all been disappointingly poor.

As an aside for others, the speakers are great I think, it's the head unit
that's awful.  It's possible to re-do the system with a new (high end) head
unit, then just stick a line-level adapter in between it and your speakers
and not have to replace them or the wiring.  I did that 10 years ago and
have been very happy.
