[V8] Question of Theory: NAC...well, VERY little Audi Content

The seats are pretty much a straight swap in. You should have no problem
finding a nicer cloth seat/set of seats for that application. The front seat
nuts are already in the floor, so mounting is fairly easy. That is, the
bench only uses four outermost mounting points. While the buckets/split
bengh use all eight.
If you go with buckets, and don't have the wiring (I don't think it's in the
manual seat trucks, correct me if I'm wrong) you can simply get an
additional passenger seat track from another and use it on the drivers side.
Most of these trucks I've dealt with have a power drivers side and manual
everything else.
As for the rest of the interior, scrub it all down with half hot water half
Mr. Clean. I've been doing this on vehicles for years, and it will smell
great after you are done! If it has carpet (I don't recall what you said
about that) use Spray n Wash for the spots first. Let it soak for about 15
minutes.
BTW, the Suburbans and Tahoe's of the same years also fit. Dont' forget to
make sure you grab the seatbelt latches if they are different (they are from
bench to bucket).

Here is one issue that I must deal with immediately. The former owners were
smokers. Now, I don't object o people smoking, so long as they don't
exhale. Unfortunately, the Spartan interior of this truck: bench seat,
rubber floor covering and very little else, is saturated with Essence of Old
Cigarettes, so it will take a gallon of Fabreeze or some such, and probably
the need to pull out the old seat and pitch it.
So, for any of you with more experience in such things than I, can I fit the
split seats from a similar GM truck into this one without a whole lot of
agony and angst? My choice will be to source a replacement seat from a
similar GM product and ideally, it would be one of the split 2/3rds/1/3rd
varieties. The simple bench seat is fine, but the one in this truck has a
piece taken out of the driver's side corner, so the bench itself is toast,
and given the smoke smell, I'd like to rip out the whole seat and replace
it.
