[V8] Fuel leak/valvetrain noise/oil type

It is possible to rebuild the hoses. Be sure that the shop uses high
quality and high pressure parts.
On the lifter noise, I quieted mine down with a dose of ATF (1 qt) for a
few hundred miles just before an oil change. There are other products as
well but that is cheap and seems to work fine. You may need to double
check the noise too - there is a loud clack that comes from the timing
belt adjuster that radiates all over the motor. It is hard to pin down.
That requires removing the t-belt to repair - but it sounds like you need
to do that soon anyway.
