[V8] 94 v8 instrument cluster

I think the primary problem is the ribbon cables inside the cluster. I have a hard time believing the connectors on the back of the cluster are so un-reliable. This same style and brand connector is used all over the car, and is still used today. Why would it only affect the cluster?
The internal ribbon cable however is prone to cracking at the solder joints due to the way it is laid out. Vibration will break it. I remember having several broken pins in mine. I just replaced the solid wire ribbons with stranded wire (individually soldered in) and never had a problem again.
