[Vwdiesel] What does a turbo sound like to the average person?

  I sure never thought of it as sounding like a siren.  Way too high pitched.
  It makes me wonder though, if passengers think it sounds like a siren
then perhaps you're modulating the throttle on a consistent basis rather
than holding steady.  I noticed a long time ago that I tended to drive the
Rabbit that way a LOT.  It holds a steady speed but I was stepping on
and letting off of the throttle constantly.  A turbo would make an audible
presence of doing that.
