[Vwdiesel] oil pressure problems tried everything

Hello,

I put a rebuilt 1.6LNA diesel in my jetta last year.  After a few thousand
miles my oil light flashed and buzzed.  First thing I did was put a high
volume pump on had the same problem.  Checked the oil pressure with a
mechanical (autozone gauge) showed no pressure.  Then I removed the vacuum
pump and noticed some wear at the oil pump drive so I replaced that.  Now I
get about 20 psi (according to the autozone gauge) under acceleration but
none at idle.  When I pull the oil sender with the engine running I get alot
of oil spraying out.  When I hooked the factory sender and lights back up it
is fine till I shift to 2nd gear, then buzzes and flashes and keeps buzzing
till I brake.  I have spent about $3500 on this car recently and love the
little thing but I am afraid the main bearings are shot?  It runs great and
doesn't make any odd noises and no smoke.  Any ideas as to what would cause
this oil pressure problem?
