[Vwdiesel] EGT Gauge Probe Mounting

Am thinking about installing an EGT gauge such as $120 Isspro to monitor
exhaust temperature near turbo. Isspro via www.dieselpage.com shows Red
zone starting about 1300F degrees pre turbo and 1100 degrees after turbo.
 Which location is most common to place the sensor probe?

There are several ways of installing the sensor probe. Adjustable screw
in or weld on bushings. Also a fixed type using a round hose clamp. The
fixed clamp style seems to be based on a specific diameter exhaust pipe.
Which of these is best to install?
