Forgive me if my terms are not the correct ones. I remind the readership my=
knowledge of diesels and turbos is slim to none (LOL)
re: 1.6L Jetta Turbo diesel (1988) and ongoing turbo testing.

Today I installed a remote solenoid valve on the small "turbo line" (1/4" l=
ine that goes to from the turbo pump to the spaceship(hahah) aneroid valve(=
?) on top of my injector pump. I made quite a few "A" vs. "B" tests with t=
he valve open or closed and could not detect even the slightess bit of diff=
erence between either while driving under load, high revs, lows revs, uphil=
l, downhill, flooring it. (well, you get the idea). I know from a previous=
test there is a good 8+PSI or better on this line under load and high revs=
. (10PSI if I am really redlining it)

So..........what does this test tell me (us) ?

Does this aneroid simply control "extra" fuel going through the injector pu=
mp or ??

By having no "extra fuel" (if this is what it does), that presumably means =
no extra "boost", huh?
What about the extra air being injected into the cylinders by the actual tu=
rbo pump itself? How does it tie into this equation.

I really have to win one of these auctions for a Bentley book on Ebay, <g> =
or have someone explain to me how this whole system works.

My CDN 2c worth , from NB,
Mike
P=2ES.-MY ULTIMATE GOAL IN ALL OF THIS IS TO SIMPLY KNOW WHETHER OR NOT THE=
TURBO IS WORKING AND TO ACHIEVE TO ABSOLUTE **BEST FUEL MILEAGE POSSIBLE**=
. HP IS SECONDARY.
