[Vwdiesel] 1.6l TD , no power

I guess TDC could be verified by removing the oil pan
and rotating the crank and watching for #1 being at
the top of its stroke and then looking at the timing
mark on the flywheel and seeing if they coincide.
Remember, you could be 180 deg. off and have to turn
the crank another 180 deg. to get TDC. (Both cam lobes
pointing approximately up on #1.) If the mark is off,
you can make a new one and take it from there by
timing that motor.

I bet the timing is off (retarded, I bet) and second
guuess would be a turbocharger problem (wastegate), or
blow-off valve leaking. Put a pressure guage on it for
grins to see what kind of boost you get, but remember,
if the timing is off, boost will most likely be lower.
