[Vwdiesel] Oil change pump

While changing oil on my '03 TDI is much easier than on my '91 (where
the lower cowling and power steering lines need "adjustment" to extract
an oil filter which wants to slip out of one's hands...), I'm looking
for ways to reduce the time and effort involved.  I hear rumor that there
has been debate covering the use of a pump, versus draining oil from the
drain plug.  Would some kind soul direct me to any summary of such debate?

Additionally, would someone point me to some pump choices?
