Easy. Just tell them they have to pay $50,000 to get it. I'm not so sure
the US public is ready to pay that much for a diesel SUV. A diesel truck
yes, but not a luxury SUV.
And what about the $70,000 Phaeton? Who is VW trying to kid?
I think these two creations could easily spell the end of VW in the US. VW
service is already crap to begin with. Especially with TDI's. And we're
only talking $20,000 cars. The average Joe with the $20,000 VW barely puts
up with VW's crappy service as it is. The elite that can afford a $50,000
or $70,000 vehicle won't put up with VW's crappy service for two seconds.
