Hagar,

The AD oil is differentiated from straight weight aviation mineral oil
by the presence of a dispersant (detergent & wetting agent) which holds
certain sludge and varnish products in suspension. Additionally,
the ashless agent reduces the formation of ash within the cylinder
region. The oil tends to have lower ring deposition characteristics.
There are also anti-foaming additives which may be somewhat incompatable
with aviation multi-vis products.

Straight mineral oil is normally used during breakin, as the AD additives
tend to suspend particulates better, reducing ring seating, etc.

If you were closer, I'd take your AD oil, and find something else that would
make you happy.

Val
