'evening all:

not to steal any thunder from forrest, his project was way more complex than
mine-
Bertha is on the road! 6 months for me too, but lots of interruptions and
distractions
along the way. just took her out for a short jaunt to get fuel ($1.70!), beer
and smokes.
i should have gotten an aligment first, but i figured that could wait until
tommorow.
i was so confident i negelected to bring my cell phone (i figured i wouldnt't
need it anyhow ;) )

heat works, a/c works, becker radio too! you may laugh, but that vw smell is
there.
i am amazed that it smells the same as my air cooled vw'd did.
far-feg-knew-what? yeah whatever...

MANY MANY thanks to all especially loren, nate and roger who patiently answered
my
questions along the way. you guys have been great.

the way included lots of little things:

timing belt
valve adjustment
tie rod ends (boy what a pain)
brakes
emergency brake cables
shifter bushing r&r
making a new relay shaft stud
tires
corrado vc gasket (this is slick, i highly rec'd)
tracing down the f'd up wiring (upshift light and horn still don't work)
fixing a/c & alt bracket

still left to do-
alignmet!
brake bleeding again (fix for mushy brakes)
horn
fan wiring
fixing 5th gear (me thinks the needles are toast)
tracking down the mysterious clunks and rattles
wvo conversion
