  Semi along that thought, I came up with a method of controlling the
"blast distance" of such things as particle, laser, phaser, disrupter
weapons.  An auto ranging, distance calculation system that then
sets the time burst duration to the fractional second it takes for the
beam to reach the target.  (Trying to think of a good way to blast
Starlings as I drive past them!)  Now if there was just a more efficient
way to accelerate a particle or disrupt the molecular bond without using
more power than it takes to create the beam!
  Yeah, I thinks abouts all kinds of things!  ;-)  Just not enough time,
funding nor technology to do most of it!
