[Vwdiesel] front CV axel

I've thought about from time to time as well.

Here are my $0.02,
-All of the balls are ground to the same dimensions when rebuilt.
-The inner and outer race pieces and cage are ground to the same
dimensions as well.
-All of the balls and their places in the joint are subjected to the
same stresses and forces more or less equally, and therefore wear
equally.
-The joint wear areas are not considered "high speed" bearings.

The Engineer in me says "yes, it should go back together as it was taken
apart." However, considering this isn't a Nuclear Grade mechanical
joint, I would just put it back together, where ever the pieces fall. I
seriously doubt that it will make much difference on longevity.

Put the joint back together and keep it as a spare. Or, better yet, put
this joint back on. Let it wear out, and replace it with your 'new' one.
