The concern I would have would be algae growth.

The lines can be blown out easily enough, but the tank may need more
effort.

Old fuel can be used... in marinas, there is a service called fuel
polishing just for this problem.

How easy is it to remove a Volvo fuel tank?  Drain it, take it out, and
take the tank to a "self spray" car wash and let her rip. There are some
products out there for heavy algae blooms... Power Service sells a "kit"
through there web site to shock-treat fuel systems. Look in the maritime
sector for such products. There are quite a few.
