[Vwdiesel] 81 Rabbit NA 1.6 problem

Dan,
I had a idler pulley seize while on the freeway once. I didn't notice it
until I was stopped in traffic. Noticed a burning rubber smell and a God
awful screech.

Mike said that his vacuum pump seized, causing his aux shaft to stop.
Remember, if the vacuum pump ain't turning, neither is the oil pump!!!
Ouch!
