I have a handful of the four pointed outs, but I just haven't found high
quality ones. I can get quality EZouts at just about any car parts
place. I think Home Depot even carries them. The big ones (6, 7, 8 ,9
and up) are better for pipes. I find I use 1 2 and 3 the most. 0 is
handy, but not very strong.
The expansion problem is reduced by using light torque, and relying on
loosening, rather than spinning. Embedding the groves in plastic bolt
segments helps.
While we're talking...on a Rabbit water pump, I got lazy one time, and
didn't use heat and impact, and I rounded out the allen head. The solution
was to drop braze into the head, with the allen socket in place. The
braze tightened up the hole enough to use impact and get things out.
The heat didn't hurt. The socket cleaned up fine.
If anyone gets a lead on nice aircraft torches, you might pass it on.
Mine is a Linde, I think a W-200. Pretty pricy when I got it 25 years
ago. Still pricy. There should be a lower cost unit available.
