 If I'm not mistaken off road diesel sold to farmers is

  A few points;

 Sulfur is NOT a lubricant, as it is found in fuel oil. The process of
removing the sulfur from the fuel also reduced the lubricating qualities of
the fuel.

 Sulfur is evil and does no good in an internal combustion engine. It causes
more pollution and shortens the life of the engine due to corrosion.
High-sulfur fuel should be avoided if possible.

 That said, what the government doesn't know won't hurt them, and I see no
problem with extending on-road fuel with a "supplement" of dyed fuel......
:-)) You could always carry an empty can of Marvel Mystery Oil and plead
that the dye from that is what was coloring your fuel, if you should happen
to get a sample pulled by the federales. Might work.
