[Vwdiesel] Passat Synchro wagon "?"'s

What's the deal on a late 80's/early 90's Passat Synchro Wagon (Estate)
Is it a diesel? (possibly a diesel?)
I see one parked near where I live and it hasn't moved in months.
The current owner has several cars, including a Jetta.(gasser I think)

I couldn't get close enough to it to see what "model" it said it was by the
trunk lip, but
they were small red letters of some sort.  The word "SYNCHRO" was in very
large letters nearly the
same color as the paint of the car (light met. blue) just below the rear
side windows.  A decal of some sort.

I am always keeping my eyes open, cuz if my old n' tired Golf doesn't make
it on the road, I
will be on the prowl for another diesel.

That being said, Passats command CRAZY money around here.  IE: I called
about a gasser sedan someone was selling a few months back.  Had 200k on the
clock.  A 91 or 92 I think and they were asking 5k ! ! !
Holy Mother of Mercy, 5K !!

LOL!


Any chance this is a diesel......how much different are they from a Jetta ?
