I sure like that charcoal and hubcap idea. On a street in Montreal it
would work.

Just a reminder --have a fire snuffer handy. The black art of
getting diesels going is very valuable . It took me many years to catch
on -- for one reason piecemeal attack. Now I go for an all out attack
from the start.

Remember ? at first sign of starting troubles ? clean battery terminals.
and pull out all the stops from glowplugs to the whole shebang.

Now that I know the art --- I don't need it --- sounds familiar ???

If possible cover the front of the car at night Blanket ? wonder if a
space blanket would work ?

Val Christian , James Hansen ,Loren , Sandy Cameron and other wizards
have covered a lot so no need for me to say it again.

In parting make yourself a good set of jumpers . Superflex Welding cable
and parrot beaks. And silver solder connections. Store jumpers like Valmart
Canadian tire etc ? no good ----- too many voltage drops. Have fun.

Hagar.
