For the crank bolt (you only need to pull it to do the seal, not the belt)
you need to either have the pan off and block the crank with a healthy
piece of wood, use the screwdriver in the starter ring, as you did or get
hold of a GOOD air impact wrench and ~175psi air supply to break it
loose. You might talk a shop into breaking it loose then just tighten
it up a fair amount and go home and finish the job.
The way to pull the int, cam and if you need to some time pump
pulleys is to loosen the bolt, put some leverage behind it but be
careful on the int. pulley. Don't put any pressure on the rim! Then
give the head of the bolt that's a turn or two loose, a good, solid
rap with a heavy hammer. Should pop right loose with no damage
to anything. It may take a couple tries.
When doing the intermediate shaft, be sure to replace the thin, green
o-ring around the seal carrier also.
