Some of you may know that my hobbyhorse is the injection system.

Many are interested but some think stupid questions will derate the
things they really know something about. Please come forward.

Gary Orlando Gary gbangs at cfl.rr.com I have a few questions for you

I know that you took a couple (at least) pumps apart. Looking at the timing ring ,
what exactly is the BLACK coating ?. Is it the same as we find on guns ?

The timing piston being light alloy the coating is most likely Anodizing -- agree ?.

For the newbies who just dropped in , a couple of comments.

It looks at first like we need more expensive special tools . Not so.
However I found an impact screwdriver handy. A 3/8 drive one did it
for me. Do they use Gorillas for tightening screws at wolfsburg ?.

Here is some important information. ---- Governor locknut and the screw are both
LEFT hand thread. All the rest are standard.

Anyone who wants to know how I removed regulatorvalve just ask. I used
a 3/8 drive deep socket and a cotterkey from rear wheel.

How to check Pump internal pressure ? . By the way those two dumpster
gauges were not 2 inch , but 1.5 inch real neat in front of windshield.

Here is how I did it , take a fuel in banjo and a drain banjo . Stacked them on a
metric bolt-thread . Get hold of 3 nuts . Drilled a hole lenghtwise in bolt for fuel. Just
use your own way ,I silver soldered the nuts together. And OUT banjo screws in to
top nut.Do not remove screen from inside drain banjo. It protects orifice hole.

Well I have a pump to fiddle with so I must go. Perfect day out there in front.

Hagar.
