Sounds like the pump is on its way out. Seal goes, coolant leaks out
the weep hole and in time the bushing is shot due to lack of
lubrication. No need to touch the injector pump to replace the water
pump:

Be sure to get the proper replacement pump, there are a few different
sizes of pulley flanges (30 and 40mm).
