Also can be used to increase power output.  Old time John Deere diesel tractors used h20 injection to
cool the piston centers to get more pull out of the tractor.  Many oldtimers figured the extra umph
came from the engine becoming a steam engine.  Also with a bit of methanol mixed in it was used in both
aircraft piston engines, aircraft turbine engines, and atleast one muscle car, pontiac I think, to
boost engine output.  Biggest concern is to much h2o and hydrolocking the engine, a real big concern
with our diesels.Justin
