[Vwdiesel] Rubbing noise on takeoff

I have a rubbing noise when I take off in first gear. It doesn't happen if
you start off lightly but on a normal take off from a stop sign or traffic
light you get a rubbing noise up to a point and then it goes away.  Kind of
like the engine is tilting just enough with all the torque at initial take
off. If you hit 2nd hard like trying to get up in traffic it will do the
same but not very long.  I just installed the engine after rebuilding it
1500 miles ago and this has been happening ever since I put it in the car.
I replaced all the engine mounts with brand new ones. Boy are they
expensive. I got under the car and can not see anything that might be
rubbing. The engine runs strong and all fluids are good. I replaced the
clutch system with new stuff when I put the engine back in. I also had the
front end aligned and the shop that did that couldn't see anything either.
Any ideas?
