[Vwdiesel] Help - messed in the head...

Skimming the head would have virtually no effect on the
compression; but could result in Le Crunch.


  A friend's head was surfaced (big belt sander method) until it was flush 
with the valves on #4.  (There was a slight taper op to about .010 left 
above #1 valves.)  We didn't have another head so we gave it a try.  
Worked just fine.  In fact it sounded REALLY good.  My fear from 
rumors of what happens if you surfaced a VW diesel head too far 
was gone the day it fired up and kept running.  :-)
