  Since valves don't tend to burn on these (still possible though) first do 
as 
Mark suggested and recheck the clearances on the Rabbit's #4.  Next would 
be to check that injector or swap it with one from the Pickup's #1 or #4 
cylinder and see if that helps any.  Could be a bad injector that's "washed" 
the cylinder and compression would come back at least partially with a 
good one.  Could be a broken ring or burned valve but oil should've helped 
the compression on a broken ring, so long as a piece isn't missing.
  Pickup sounds like a blown head gasket.  Need to check the injectors 
on it too since water in the cylinder often damages the injectors either 
by making for a bad spray pattern or severly to where they don't even fire.  
You might be able to pull or coast start that pickup simply to get it running 

but it'll probably pressurize the coolant rather quickly.
