Indeed! Anybody remember the mid 70's? The claim's always been
that it takes 5 or 6 years minimum to develop a car and bring it into
production. Yet when gas prices shot up, Detroit managed to get
Pintos, Mustang IIs, Vegas, Monzas, Chevettes, etc on the market
within about a year! Gee, HOW is that possible? Hmmm, I wonder...
I've been saying it's going to happen again. Just as most cars then
were going big with mileage in the low to mid teens then (with no power)
they've gone behemoth, prices have gone up. Seems like it just may
be getting ready to happen again. And they said I was mad! Part of
the reason I have several VW/Audi diesels sitting around.
