  With a 1.6 TD you'd want 2.5 inch. Two inch is too small for optimum 
performance as is the factory downpipe.  
  2" or 2 1/4 works very well on a NA (naturally aspirated).  On some 
you'll gain bottom end torque.  On my 1. I gained top end torque.  
Should wind up quicker, might make better mileage, will run cooler, etc.
