[Vwdiesel] Engine/transmission mounting problem

Sorry I wasn't more specific. It is too far towards the drivers side of the
car. (Left side, in case there are any Englanders on here.) That axle seems
to be too long, and the passenger side on won't reach to the flange. It
could be that they are just bound up, but I played with them for a bit cause
I just couldn't believe it that it didn't just drop in and work. I can get
some movement out of the axles, but not a lot. About how much would you say
is normal? I can get about 1/4-1/2 inch total movement, I think.

And yes, the flanges look exactly the same and I measured from the rear
mount point to the edge of the flange and I got the same number with both
the old and new transmission.

Thanks,
Erik
