Local fuel market caveats also apply. The situation has stabilized
here, somewhat, in the last few weeks, but earlier last fall, the
differential between gasoline and Diesel fuel was as much as $1.20 per
gallon. Yesterday it was 16 cents. Somewhere around 50 cents a gallon, many
potential buyers get their calculators out and compute per mile fuel costs.
Essentially, the car is worth what someone is willing to pay for it.
VWDs are a niche market, and in general, potential buyers are a good bit
smarter- and better looking- than the usual tire-kickers.
Where is the car located? :)

Hey, Talk about a reason to rant. How about the latest fuel price report from San Jose CA. Regular $2.35 Mid grade $2.45 Premium $2.55 Diesel $2.69 !!!!!!!!!??????? 34 cents a gal more than regular? Some 13% ! Would someone tell me just what the bleep is going on??????? I thought it was supposed to be cheaper to produce diesel fuel. Why hasn't this thing equalized out by now?? Is this going to be more or less a permanent situation? We go to a substantial amount of trouble (and expense) to drive these little diesel cars, only to realize there is little or no fuel savings (at this point) over driving a regular gas Jetta (equivalent vehicle). I know you can use bio sources, but that's a bunch of time and trouble ($) in itself. This stuff is starting to really piss me off. Rant off. Doug Ferguson
